IODATE SALTS ARE 3-6 TIMES MORE ACUTELY TOXIC TO MICE THAN IODIDE SALTS. POTASSIUM & SODIUM IODATE HAVE ABOUT THE SAME LD50, & PRODUCE DEATH IN ACUTE RENAL FAILURE. SOMETIMES HEMOGLOBINURIA PRECEDED RENAL SHUTDOWN. /BROMATE/
